This Christmas, over 140 employees from Genesis Global received some very bad news via email. The email explained how the company is shutting down its operations with immediate effect and thus 18 online casinos are being shut down and all employees have to leave.
A couple of years ago, Genesis Global looked set to become the world’s next big casino giant. Until 2022, Genesis launched 18 online casinos that were active around the world.
Behind the scenes, according to NewZealandcasinos.nz and Casino.org, however, Genesis has had major problems with both the UK and Sweden. Two countries that have their own licenses that reviewed Gensis and even suspended casinos.
However, the slap in the face must have come in 2022 when Genesis received a large fine from the UK of 3.8 million pounds and before that it had also received a fine of 400,000 pounds from Sweden.
This has led to Gensis being put into bankruptcy with indivisible effect. All their casinos (18) were shut down overnight. Right now you encounter the error code error 20 when you try to visit their casino. What has happened to all player accounts and the money players had left is still unclear.
